With our insatiable lust for burning fuel and the growing demand for personal transportation vehicles (i.e. cars) it is very likely that a new challenge will soon appear to the driving people. Unless flying cars are soon introduced, escaping the parking lot will become a nightmare to behold. That is why games like Unblock Car have been devised. To prepare the citizen and arm him with skills of gentle maneuvering and coordination.

Car Unblock is a Traffic Jam type game. The goal for each level is to position cars throughout the parking lot so that your car can slip out. If you haven't played such a game before, or have no idea what parking problems will be in the future, then read on.

Cars are rectangular shaped pieces which can only be moved forward or backward. They can't turn since in the future you don't do that in a parking lot.

Each level will consist of several moves that need to be performed in order to succeed. Of course you can eventually finish a level after hundreds of maneuvers but each level has an optimal solution which implies a minimum amount of moves. Whenever you succeed a level optimally you will be rewarded with a hint charge. These accumulate and you only need one on any level. Using a hint will highlight and move pieces in their correct direction automatically upon tapping. You can turn off the hint any time if you think you've had enough help, but you won't receive any change.

There are 3.000 levels to chose from, ranging through four difficulty levels. The more difficult the category, the less space and more convoluted the solution will be. So keep those hints for when they're really needed.

There are four skins to choose from, ranging from classic to sci-fi looking vehicles, parked somewhere in the vicinity of Saturn.

Conclusion

Car Unblock is a good Traffic Jam clone. The interface is pleasant and sounds are neutral. It is a good design and boasts enough levels to keep you occupied for years to come.
